Bio

Juan was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia. He developed a passion for aircraft at an early age, inspired by the Space Shuttle and his dad's career as a C-130 pilot. He received his B.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering from Pennsylvania State University (PSU) in 2018, and worked for the aerospace company, PteroDynamics, after graduation. Juan joined the University of California, Davis in 2022 to pursue his graduate studies with a focus in aerodynamics, and is part of Dr. Camli Badrya's Davis Applied Aerodynamics Lab. In his free time, Juan enjoys listening to his favorite band, Foo Fighters, along with playing guitar, flying/building RC airplanes, and following Formula 1 racing.
